Private Rosamond Johnson United States Army Gold Star Memorial Scholarship

The Private Rosamond Johnson United States Army Gold Star Memorial Scholarship is awarded in honor of Private Johnson was mortally wounded during the Korean War while rescuing three wounded comrades on 26 July 1950.

Each Scholarship winner will receive $1000.00. To apply for the scholarships, applicants must write a 500 word essay on the topic of “What it means to be an American.” Applicants must be enrolled in UWF and be Active Duty, Reserve, Air National Guard, Retired, Veteran Airmen or a USAF ROTC Cadet. Completed essays can be turned into the Office of Military Services/ AWKO Center For Leadership at Bldg. 77 or uploaded in the Portal no later than September 2, 2026. Scholarships will be awarded on September 17, 2026.
