Cpl J.R. Spears, USMC Gold Star Memorial Scholarship

Each Scholarship winner will receive $1000.00. To apply for the scholarships, applicants must write a 500 word essay on the topic of “what it means to be an American.” Applicants must be enrolled in UWF and be an Active Duty, Reserve, Retired or Veteran Marine or a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman (8404) who has served with the Marines. Completed essays can be turned into the AWKO Center For Leadership at Bldg 75 or uploaded in the Portal. Completed essays should be turned in no later than 1 September 2025. Scholarships will be awarded on 18 September 2025.
