The Ashley Hardaway Theriot Study Abroad Scholarship

Recipient(s) must meet all requirements for the UWF study abroad programs with the completion of all paperwork, and have applied for or been approved of a credit bearing study abroad program. Preference will be given to student(s) from the Northwest Florida area (Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, & Walton counties.) Applicants must provide the following for consideration of the scholarship(s): (1) Complete a 500 – 600 word essay that indicates how the student will prepare for the differences in culture and academics and the steps he/she will take to build bridges with the host country during and after the exchange. (2) The student should also provide documented community service. The recipient must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
