Argos Community Impact Scholarship

The Argos Community Impact Scholarship supports students involved in unpaid internships or community-based research with government or non-profit organizations. These $1,000 scholarships are designed to help cover some of the expenses associated with these unpaid experiences. Eligibility:

  • Must be a full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate student at UWF.
  • Be actively engaged in an unpaid internship* or community-based research project with a government, non-profit, or mission-driven organization serving the public interest
  • Preference is given to students seeking their first internship experience in their major field.
  • Applicants must submit a 1-2 page essay outlining their internship or community-based research project, its impact on the community, and how the scholarship will help them achieve their academic and professional goals.
  • Letter from internship supervisor stating internship is unpaid.
  • Must be enrolled in an associated course during the semester the internship or community-based research occurs. Students must either be:
    Currently enrolled in the internship or research course and actively completing the experience, or
    Enrolled in the associated course for the upcoming semester in which the internship or research will take place.

*At UWF, “internship” is synonymous with practicum, clinicals/clinical placement, preceptorship, student teaching, co-op, and field experience/placement

Application Cycle:
Fall Internships: June 1 – July 15 (current cycle)
Spring Internships: November 1 – December 1
Summer Internships: March 1 – April 1
